Twins plan promo for fans with peanut allergies

Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal – June 2, 2006

There's no smoking in the Metrodome, and for one day, there won't be any peanuts either — at least not in the right-field Skybox.

The Minnesota Twins will reserve the Skybox, which encompasses about 100 seats and is used by the press during the football season, for people with peanut allergies and their families for the July 2 game against the Milwaukee Brewers. The promotion is being offered in partnership with the Food Allergy Support Group of Minnesota.

Tickets cost $26 and may be purchased by calling the Twins ticket office at 612-33-TWINS or 1-800-33-TWINS. Seating is limited to the first 100 fans.

"Peanuts are synonymous with a baseball game, but they keep some fans from being able to visit the ballpark," Minnesota Twins Vice President of Marketing Patrick Klingler said in a statement. "This is a chance to provide people with peanut allergies the opportunity to experience a Twins game in person."
